I enjoy photography and try to capture things in my every day life that inspire me creatively. I also take a lot of screen shots of things that catch my eye online. I just browsed through the past few weeks on my phone & wanted to share with you some colours, patterns & images that have inspired my latest body of work. A few weeks ago I jumped in the car & went to a paint store. I was determined to add a shade of green similar to these tiles onto my canvases. I found a colour by Benjamin Moore called Lafayette Green, I'm now debating redoing a space in our home... don't tell my husband.

These colours obviously scream fall to me, how amazing is nature at this time of the year.
I continue to find inspiration from Interiors & this issue of Elle Decoration UK did not disappoint. That wall is amazing!!

I took this photo a few weeks ago while I was in Toronto. I read online about a place called Graffiti Alley & told my husband that we needed to go. Everyone walking around was snapping photos, there was so much to take in. I prefer the close up details like this, rather than the full murals themselves.

The first thing that caught my eye when I saw Bri Emery's dining room makeover was the chairs. That green is just so fresh, I don't think I would tire of it in my home. I also have a similar vintage rattan light fixture so I feel like a cool kid. One person's trash is my treasure as I got it for free when a relative moved & got the contents of the home. I took off the gold chain & now it looks new & modern.
A detail from one of my paintings. I'm also experimenting with oil pastels a bit more which is new for me. Layers & shapes create a sense of movement. I felt as though I was looking at an aerial view of a city when I was contemplating my next move. The process really is such an exciting time, and I'm proud to say that this was made on the floor in my laundry room. No fancy studio or easel, just me & my brushes & some good tunes.
